A smart phone is a phone which has functions similar to a computer .It has many more features than Feature phones and Dumb phones .
There are three types of phones; Smart phones , Feature phones and Dumb phones . To compare the phones we shall liken them to tools
Dumb phones such as the Nokia 1100 are like pocket knives ; a pocket knife only has one tool, a folding blade. A dumb phone is similar in that it only has one function that is making phone calls(and sms).
Feature phones like the Nokia C3 can be likened to a Swiss army knife . The army knife has many tools such as knives and screw drivers that can all be folded but into one body. This tool however has a fixed number of attachments. The Feature phone is similar in the sense that it has a lot more functions than dumb phones but
like the army knife they are of a fixed number(it comes with a limited set of functions).
Smartphones like the iPhone or Samsung Galaxy are similar to a mechanics tool box. They have
lots of space to store your tools and you can add and remove tools easily as and when you need them. These tools for smartphones are commonly called apps
